Scott Micek, PharmD, BCPS, FCCP is Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and completed a residency in pharmacy practice at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Micek has 15+ years of experience as a clinical pharmacist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital as part of the interdisciplinary medical intensive care unit team. His scholarly work has focused on optimizing hemodynamic support and antimicrobial management in critically ill patients through risk assessment, decision-making analysis, and outcomes research. His research has received support from industry, non-industry, and private foundation grants and he has published more than 100 peer reviewed scientific papers. Dr. Micek’s primary teaching interests focus on research design, biomedical literature interpretation, and use of evidence with patient care and health care systems.
